Attorney Janet Goldman has dedicated her practice to advocating for the best interests of her clients. She strives to find innovative solutions to complicated and stressful issues.
As owner and managing partner at Goldman & Goldman Law Office, Janet's primary focus is on bankruptcy cases where she has been representing consumers and small businesses throughout Rhode Island since 1989.
With a B.A. from Skidmore and a J.D. from New England School of Law, Janet continues to dedicate her practice to guiding her clients from the initial consultation to a plan for a fresh start.
Janet is an active member of numerous professional associations, having recently served as co-chair of the consumer forum for the American Bankruptcy Institute. She is also a frequent speaker focusing on debt-related issues. Janet received an award for outstanding service from the Bankruptcy Legal Clinic in 2017. She presently serves on the Rhode Island bankruptcy advisory panel. She also serves on community Boards with a focus on Women's philanthropy.
Attorney Rebecca Goldman is a partner at Goldman & Goldman. Rebecca’s professional focus encompasses all areas of matrimonial and family law. She is skilled at negotiating pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, separation and settlement agreements, custody rights and agreements, and grandparent visitation issues as well as DCYF cases. Rebecca is also a clinically trained mediator.
Rebecca is aware that family law matters may require an aggressive approach and at other times a sensitive approach. She understands the importance of emotional intelligence and tailors her support to the needs and circumstances of each of her clients and advises and advocates for them accordingly. Rebecca has successfully resolved complex family matters through trial litigation, settlement negotiation, and mediation.
Rebecca received her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and received her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She also attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Rebecca is admitted to practice in the State of Rhode Island and in the State of Connecticut. She is a member of the RI Bar Association, RI Women’s Bar Association and RI Family Law Inns of Court.
